The branch of dentistry that deals with the study and treatment of the tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth, especially the gums.

PERIODONTAL SCALING

Periodontal scaling is a procedure whereby a dentist or hygienist removes the deposits from under the gum line. Plaque and tartar is removed from the root surface. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia so as to make the patient more comfortable. Many times it can be performed in two to four visits depending upon the amount of deposit or inflammation present.

FLOSSING IS A MUST AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. FLOSSING IS TO BE DONE GENTLY BETWEEN TOOTH WITH  BACK AND FORTH MOVEMENT.

 

TIME TO CHANGE THE TOOTH BRUSH WHEN THE BRISTLES APPEARED FRAYED.

RECOMENDED TIME TO CHANGE THE TOOTH BRUSH IS USUALLY 3 MONTHS.
